The pride of the May park is a couple of graceful black swans- Katrina and Grafs (Count). They live in the park`s pond and are a pleasing sight to both local residents and visitors.
Local residents chose the swan names by submitting their options and then voted for the best names.
Daiga Janševska became Godmother to the couple in June 2014.
Katrina was chosen in honour of St. Catherine, the patroness of Cēsis, whilst Grafs in honour of von Sievers family, who at the end of the 18th century built Cēsis castle manor house and created Cēsis city parks, including May Park, formerly known as Alex’s Park.
